Concert Night

Ventured out to the new Suntrust Park venue for a concert tonight. Zac Brown Band was great! Lots and lots of people but it was worth it. Enjoyed the company indeed for a grown up night on the town:)

IKe@ Day

Spent some time wondering a round the gigantic IKEA. Had lunch with meatballs and chocolate cake of course;) They have WAY too much stuff to look at. Made it out with only a $4 panda bear for Bug though!

Thai Icecream

Girls love this new fangled ice cream rolled up. Enjoying fulfilling all their wishes off their summer bucket list :). Later, Lori and I snuck off for a movie. Lots of fun packed into a Thursday night lol.

Happy Things

Cutie little...pretty purple flowers...best friend...yummy pizzas...all make me smile :)

Stone Mount@in

We struck out on a whim to see the laser show at Stone Mt. Picked an excellent evening as the crowd was low and it wasn't too hot. Arrived in plenty of time to scope out the attractions and simply have fun with my peeps. Being intentional on our little girl's night out :)

Always fun visiting and hanging out poolside...sweet summertime!

Flashback Movie

Pam and I hit the big screen to see Dirty Dancing!! So much fun! I was a mere 15 years old when this movie came out THIRTY years ago...gasp. I know crazy right?!? Had a good time and can still sing every word. I know my love for documentaries and musicals (even in Dirty Dancing form) makes me quite the odd ball lol.

Desires

Obtaining Your Heart’s Delight June 25

Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.  -Psalm 37:4

I really really really wanted that job. I prayed, confessed, stood on the Word, but I didn’t get the position. I thought I wanted to marry a certain girl, prayed I would, but it didn’t happen. I wrote in a college paper I wanted to build bridges as a career, but I didn’t become an engineer. At the behest of friends, I ran for president of the student council, prayed reluctantly to be elected, but got clobbered.    The desires of my heart on all those issues were not aligned with delighting in the Lord.    God’s desires for me were better than my own dreams. The job I did get was much more fulfilling. I married the ideal girl, and have been blessed beyond my expectations. I didn’t become a bridge-builder, but God has allowed me to be part of building churches. And had I been elected president of the student council I would have missed the church job that changed my life!    We get confused when our desire becomes our delight, but we get it right when our delight in the Lord determines our desire.   TODAY’S FOCUS Set aside your fondest desires. Tell the Lord you’re nailing them to the cross. Ask Him to cause your heart to delight in Him above all else and to desire what He desires.

Super Smiles

Had a fantabulous weekend with my loves. G and I went to see the Mr. Rogers documentary Saturday night over at the fancy Avalon. Highly recommend the movie! Spent Sunday with all the girls in super silly moods. Church and lunch just like I love every Sunday :) Then made it over to the mall for some more school shopping.

Pool Day

We ventured over to the brand new Wills Park pool scene. Very nice facilities for only $5 per person. Extra bonus is that you can take in your own food and drinks which saves me a ton of money. Girls had fun and even mom enjoyed the adult only swim times every hour ;)
