Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. ~Psalm 37:4
Cindybon
Cindybon had a big birthday party at the beach yesterday. Girls wanted to know why they couldn't go swimming...eek freezing! Good to visit with some old friends from church that G and I haven't seen in awhile. Memory lane took us back to when we all first met about 13 years ago at Noonday. It was a nice day and Happy to celebrate the big 50 with her:)
Zoo Adventure
E had a fun school field trip to the zoo this week. Looks like they had lots of fun! She loves the pandas of course and told me that we should get one...just a baby one lol.
Monster Golfing
Lots of fun to be had inside the Monster Golf building. Scary clowns and all ;). Everyone had fun showing off their putt putt skills a bit. Although I'm still not sure how G managed to beat me yet again...gasp! He doesn't even feel sorry for me or anything when I lose lol. Wow a man who challenges me and tells me no often...must be a keeper :). Great night spent with some of my favorites indeed!
PS: G even won a souvenir t-shirt entitling him to bragging rights I suppose haha
Dinner Dates
Fun night out to give J a big send off to her new adventure at college. Always a fun adventure to be had when our crew gets together;). Spent some time checking out the newest park in town, then dinner with our people. Stay tuned, next up...Monster Golf!
End of Era
Today feels like the end of an era for sure. I have been packing up and closing up the official physical office. Company is closing our leased office space and we will all be working remotely from our home offices. I have already been home 3 days a week for past couple of years, so it won't be that big of a transition for me. Just feels a bit surreal closing the office down. I've completed many moves the past 24 years with this company, this time it seems "final" of sorts. Hoping and praying all works out well with everyone working from home and that I get to work for another 24 years for them :)
#Truth
Grateful to have my Journey group ladies and my chosen few around me to be authentic and REAL with every day! Change Requires Honest Community
By Rick Warren — Apr 26, 2018
“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God — truly righteous and holy. So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body” (Ephesians 4:21-25 NLT).
To change the unhealthy habits in your life, you need people who tell you the truth. You’re not going to get well on your own; you’re going to need other people in your life. You’re going to need support. You’re going to need a small group. Change requires honest community. You’ll never change some things in your life on your own — typically, the things that are the most difficult in your life and the things that you don’t want anybody else to know about. You’re never getting over those things until you share them with someone. You don’t have to tell everybody. You just need to find one person who will trust you and whom you trust — someone who will be confidential, love you unconditionally, not be judgmental, and pray for you. Revealing your feeling is the beginning of healing. This does not mean a small group where you get together on a superficial level and everyone is “fine” or “doing great.” You have to get to the level of maturity in your small group where you can say, “I had a tough week. Life stinks. Here’s what happened.” “So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body” (Ephesians 4:25 NLT). If you’re a believer, you’re also a belonger. You belong in the family of God, and every other believer belongs to you. You cannot become until you belong. You can’t become what God wants you to be until you belong in a group that’s going to pursue gut-level, honest community. Put away falsehood. Talk to your neighbor. Tell your friend the truth, because we belong to each other. If you are serious about changing the deepest hang-ups in your heart and the deeply entrenched self-defeating behaviors in your life, you must face the fear of being honest. You’ve got to stop faking it. You’ve got to put away falsehood. You’ve got to be real. You can go through life either pretending like you’ve got it all together or getting it all together. But you’ll never get it all together as long as you pretend you’ve got it all together. And you’re never going to get well, get healed, get rid of that area that’s hindering you in your life until you talk to somebody about it. |
