Reminder

I saved this to send to my kiddos. Turns out I needed some of these reminders today myself! Who knows, you just might need to hear it yourself;)

Free Concert

After the Braves game, we enjoyed seeing Lauren Daigle in concert right there on the field. She sings a few songs that are on my regular playlist, so the girls knew every word :). Oh and we even scored free tshirts just by being in the right place at the right time. Love free goodies!

Home Sweet Home

Few pics from around the house these days. Still not a big fan of this house, but my children love it. I know the kids don't want to move out of the Lassiter school district, but they know I want to move to another house one day. Maybe there's a future house that will meet all of our needs one day... hmmm. But for now, my favorite spot in the house is still on the front porch swing:)

First Day

When was the last time you did something for the first time?!? These two both off to their first day of COLLEGE! Same School but two different campuses. Wishing them both a fabulous first day :)

Inspiring Simplicity. Weekend Reads.

Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of anything that distracts us from it. It requires a conscious decision because it is a countercultural lifestyle that stands against the culture of overconsumption that surrounds us.

The world we live in is not friendly to the pursuit of minimalism. Its tendencies and relentless advertising campaigns call us to acquire more, better, faster, and newer. The journey of finding simplicity requires consistent inspiration.

What Growing Up "Poor" Taught Me About Minimalism | No Sidebar by Cheryl Smith. The nuggets of wisdom I gleaned from being raised in a low-income family are countless, and I wouldn't trade those life lessons for anything. Here are ten of them.

Stop the Stuff Stream | Smallish Blog by Evelyn Rennich. The problem with the 'stuff stream' is that most of the time we don't even notice that it is sweeping clutter into our homes.

I Reached A Minimalist Plateau & This Advice Got Me Through It | Mind Body Green by Emma Loewe. Two writers offered up the same analogy—and it's completely changed the way I view my surroundings.

Lessons Learned From Luggage Lost | NPR by Bill Harley. "What you need to do is make it through the day."

Game Day

Took the girls to see the new Suntrust Park they've heard so much about. Oh and yes we did go to "watch" a Braves game too! Girls had fun as you will see in more posts to come. We did make it wound the stadium and found all the little goodies here and there. Fun day out with the girls :)

ROTC Picnic

We all went up to the lake for T's annual ROTC picnic. Lots of food and folks from school. Looking forward to seeing T participate in the Drill Team this year.
